Amino Shrine roof restoration
Amino shrine, Amino, Kyoto is famous across Japan for the legend of Taro Urashima. Super AP KS40S by Kobe Steel was used for its roof repair and was a successfully completed job. The cypress bark roof, laid in 1963, had been used for around half a century and had become too old to use making the shrine’s work difficult. Kobe Steel titanium, with no worries of salt damage and semi-permanent durability, was chosen to ensure worship of the local deity could pass on to future generations. The roofing material was made of seamed straight Pioneer, 0.3x182B form and the locals adored its beautiful silvery-white color. We also used Super AP KS40S to make the wind-proofing and the Chinese cusped gable fit the curved groundwork better.
